Enlarged grille. Behold, the might snow-capped peaks of Michigan! Also note more muscular fender bulges.
Overly long overhangs on a relatively short wheelbase make this the least attractive angle. The various angles integrate nicely back here.
More upscale interior. Don't care for black with brown highlights? Tan and gray are other options. Luxury sedan interior styling, but the ultra-deep instrument panel is entirely hard to the touch.
Much more car-like than the Highlander, with a deeper instrument panel. A lot going on, but most of it melds.
Touchscreen a little too far away, and washes out too easily. A shelf for your stuff. Stitching on IP black not brown. Better executed than on other Toyotas. But clearly not upholstered.
Stitching on black seats is brown. Large and supportive, but headrests too far forward for me. Optional captain's chairs include foldaway tray table. Too low to the floor for adults.
Third row now seats three, but they'd better not require much legroom. Thirty percent more cargo volume behind the third row. Still not much.
For a useful amount of cargo volume, fold the second row. Cargo volume most competitive with both rows folded.
Somewhat menacing face. Complex surfacing of the body side. Somewhat muscular fenders and strong shoulder. Paint is a dark blue, not black.
Square wheel openings with unpainted black trim say this is a truck. But it's actually a tall car. Body side S-Curve resembles those on the new Supra and the Sienna minivan.
Most upscale Highlander interior yet. Plenty of soft stitched surfaces to go with the chunky trim. Two storage shelves built into the instrument panel.
Second row comfortable if back far enough to stretch legs, but must slide forward for third row. Third-row seat can hold three people in a squeeze, but cramped like most in crossovers this size.
Not much cargo space behind third-row seat. Luggage for a family will fit with the third-row seat folded.
Excellent cargo volume for a vehicle this size. Wide flat floor between minimal wheel wells. Orange cover for the high-voltage cable.
