2019 Mazda CX-5 Signature Turbo Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh Neither the Mazda CX-5 (with the turbocharged engine) or the Acura RDX gets stellar fuel economy. In the EPA's tests the CX-5 manages 22 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. This compares with 24 and 30, respectively, with the non-turbocharged engine, so the penalty for the additional performance isn't large,... Comparison vehicle: 2019 Acura RDX |

2017 Mazda CX-5 Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The Mazda CX-5's fuel economy is quite good compared to past compact crossovers. But the competition hasn't been standing still, either, and some manage better EPA figures than the Mazda. With front-wheel drive the CX-5 rates 24 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. All-wheel-drive knocks off one mpg in... Comparison vehicle: 2017 Honda CR-V |

2016 Volkswagen Golf SportsWagen Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh Compared to a crossover, a wagon should also go farther on a gallon of gas, especially on the highway, as it has a smaller frontal area to propel through the atmosphere. In the EPA's tests, the Mazda CX-5 (with front-wheel-drive) managed to slightly outscore the Volkswagen Golf SportsWagen, 26 to... Comparison vehicle: 2016 Mazda CX-5 |

2016 Hyundai Tucson Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The redesign improved the Hyundai Tucson's fuel economy, but not by enough to rank it near the leaders. With the SE's 2.0-liter engine and six-speed automatic transmission, the Tucson rates 23 mpg city and 31 mpg highway with front-wheel drive and just 21/26 with all-wheel drive. Stepping up to the... Glad I did some research on the Mazda. 2015 Mazda CX-5 Pros and Cons Member536 My Mazda is the AWD model, and, I'm pleasantly surprised that it's bascially hitting its EPA numbesr so far. I've done 3 long trips, mostly interstate, running 70 - 75 Mph, and, average mileage is running 27.5 - 30 Mpg. |

Great package for a small SUV. 2014 Mazda CX-5 Pros and Cons Member177 Hard to complain about averaging 27 mpg in an all wheel drive vehicle that is mostly surburban driven. |

Great CUV for road trips 2013 Mazda CX-5 Pros and Cons Member5591 Outstanding, I am still meeting or beating the EPA standards for this vehicle with an automatic transmission. Over a 3500 mile road trip, the total (calculated) MPG was 31.3 for the entire trip, this was 2600 miles of interstate, and about 900 miles of city driving and touring. The speeds... |

Mazda CX-5 Goes Zoom-Zoom! 2014 Mazda CX-5 Pros and Cons Member5772 Four-Year Veteran This SUV gets as good mileage as my father's Ford Escape Hybrid! Overall, I love that I am actually getting better MPG than my previous car, which was a 2009 Mazda 6. |

2014 Mazda CX-5 Pros and Cons Member5791 The number two reason I chose this vehicle was for the gas mileage, which has so far exceeded my expectations. According to the information screen, I've been averaging between 29 and 30 mpg. |

2014 Mazda CX-5 Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh In a bid to broaden the appeal of its cars, Mazda added a focus on fuel economy to its traditional emphasis on handling. The 2013 CX-5 earned surprising EPA fuel economy ratings of 26 mpg city, 35 highway--but with a manual transmission and front-wheel-drive. Add AWD and a six-speed automatic... Mazda CX-5, the best overall compact SUV around! 2013 Mazda CX-5 Pros and Cons Member5102 Being a "green" thinking person, I liked the fact that the Mazda has the best fuel economy in it's class, by a fair margin! It does deliver on it's claim: I get 30-33 on the highway, depending on average speed, even in the up and down terrain of... |

Great handling, fuel economy 2013 Mazda CX-5 Pros and Cons Member5491 True to EPA estimates, 25 city/31 highway for the AWD AT. I've tracked about half of the miles I have driven on fuelly and get ~28mpg (mostly using the car to commute to work on state routes w/ 55 mph speed limits). |

2013 Mazda CX-5 Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh On the EPA tests, the CX-5 achieves 26 miles-per-gallon in city driving, and 35 on the highway--with a manual transmission you can only get with the base trim level and front-wheel drive. The automatic trims the highway figure to 32, while the AWD model checks in at 25/31. Still... Comparison vehicle: 2013 Ford Escape |
