2017 Kia Soul 1.6T Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh While auto makers increasingly fit their cars with downsized turbocharged engines to improve fuel economy, the Hyundai-Kia 1.6-liter engine hasn't been a star in this regard. In the Soul it does a bit better than in other applications, earning EPA ratings of 26 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, each... Comparison vehicle: 2017 Mini Countryman |
2015 Kia Soul EV Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The top reason to buy any EV is fuel economy. Both the Soul EV and the e-Golf used about 20 kWh of electricity per 100 miles of suburban driving, with the Kia perhaps ten percent less efficient than the Volkswagen. Their EPA MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) ratings are 120/92... Comparison vehicle: 2015 Volkswagen Golf / GTI |

2015 Volkswagen e-Golf Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The top reason to buy nearly any EV is fuel economy. Both the e-Golf and the Soul EV used about 20 kWh of electricity per 100 miles of suburban driving, with the Volkswagen perhaps ten percent more efficient than the Kia. Their EPA MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) ratings are... Comparison vehicle: 2015 Kia Soul |
2014 Kia Soul ! Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh A year ago Kia had to adjust the EPA ratings of many of its cars, and compensate owners accordingly. The Soul suffered the most savage cut, with its EPA highway rating falling from 34 mpg to 28. For 2014, half of this loss has been regained. But 31 still falls... Comparison vehicle: 2014 Fiat 500L |

2014 FIAT 500L Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The FIAT 500L's EPA ratings--24 mpg city, 33 mpg highway--are about as good as you'll see in a small, conventionally propelled crossover. The Buick Encore does a touch better (25/33), but the MINI doesn't (23/30), and the Kia Soul scores considerably worse, at least on the highway (23/28). In... Comparison vehicle: 2012 Kia Soul |

2013 Kia Soul review (3 week rental) 2013 Kia Soul Pros and Cons jrexplore We averaged 29 mpg US gallon driving in 100 degree weather in Phoenix for 3 weeks with the AC on continuously. Driving at a spirited pace, not just cruising along. |

2012 Kia Soul ! Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh Original review: The EPA tests suggest that you give up only about one mile-per-gallon with the 164-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine compared to the 138-horsepower 1.6-liter, and nothing going from the manual to the automatic. The 2.0/automatic is rated 26 city / 34 highway, not as good as a conventional... Comparison vehicle: 2010 Nissan cube |

2010 Kia Soul Pros and Cons Member1040 For a car its size, with a 1.6 liter engine and :-( an automatic transmission, mileage is no better than a much larger, smoother-riding Buick Lacrosse. Disappointing. However, Kia -- fast learners -- fixed this for the 2012 models. |

2010 Kia Soul Pros and Cons Member3252 I am somewhat dissappointed in the gas mileage I have been getting with my Soul. I average about 28MPG, city or highway. Not much difference between long and short trips. |

2010 Kia Soul Pros and Cons A member in Cape Verde I travel highway to work everyday (130 kms to work and back) so I was looking for a bigger car with power and great fuel economy. |
