Upon Ford inspecting the vehicle they found that the water leak was due to water gathering under the roof rack, settling within the seal, and running down to the top of the windshield. The water was also running to the back of the car down the same seal and was exiting within the panels by the rear passenger door and passenger side trunk. The seal on the roof had to be replaced and panels removed so interior can be fully cleaned and dried out to avoid mold problem. I had noticed that the climate control in the car was not working correctly. After the vehicle engine was warmed up it would still blow out cold air, even when reading 75+ degrees. In order for warm temperature to come through the car it had to be manually turned to at least 77 degrees. Additionally the outside temp gauge on the My Ford Touch (MFT) display would consistently give VERY inaccurate readings. On a day where it was 40 degrees the display read anywhere from -6 to 77 degrees. I believe the two issues may had been interrelated. Upon Ford inspection the found the issue to be caused by a Ambient Air Temperature Sensor. The sensor itself was faulty and broker and needed to be replaced. After replacing the sensor the technicians found that whenever the harness it is connected to is moved the temperature readings become inaccurate. Upon additional inspection they found the pin connector for the sensor was broken and also needed to be replaced. Once replaced the Climate Control and Outside Air Temp readings appeared to be functioning correctly. | ||

I took it back because I couldn't afford to pay for a rental anymore. I called Ford corporate, they referred me to another Ford dealer about twenty minutes away. All the vents closed up, the fan works perfectly, but no air comes out of any vent. After calling Ford corporate, they told me that I had to go back to the original dealer. I left several messages until he finally called me back, and told me to bring the car in. Several days later, a part was replaced, but they declined to give me the repair ticket, saying they wanted to keep the repair order open in order to stop the factory warranty from expiring. A few warm days later, it seems to be working. The recirculation button still turns off and on from time to time, and in order to change the setting, I still have to push it twice. I didn't push it, I will ask them to look at it later. | ||

I originally took the vehicle to Lindsay Ford in Washington DC for a bad wheel hub. The wheel hub was replaced, as well as the axle and wheel housing. When I got the car back it was worse than when I brought it to Lindsay Ford, so they replaced the axle again, in an equally bad way. Eventually the rear axle started making noise and they replaced the rear axle gear, then the transmission failed due to all the fluid draining out of it because of the large gaping hole between the axle and transaxle. The entire transmission was rebuilt. Then the axle was replaced again and it was done correctly, but the cv boot and joint needed to be replaced as well as well as the left tie rod. After not having my car, or a rental for 6 weeks (over several months time) I finally got the vehicle back and the alignment seemed to be out of whack, and the engine shield fell down while I was driving the car. So I took it back to the dealership again for more repairs. Finally everything seemed to be fixed in a pretty half ass way. Then I took it to Koon's Ford to have the ridiculously comprehensive Maryland safety inspection done and it wouldn't pass the inspection without $1,200 in repairs. I still had 25 miles of powertrain warranty left, but Ford will not repair another dealerships mistakes. Lindsay Ford had forced a right tie rod upside down into where the left tie rod should be when they did the repairs. And the CV boot and joint were bad again. So I had to take it back to Lindsay Ford for the repairs. Lindsay Ford denied ever working on the left tie rod and said they can fix it for $600. I had saved my work orders and gave the service advisor the ticket number and he agreed that they did work on the tie rod, and they'll fix it and the cv boot/joint for no charge. When I got it back the repairs were done correctly (koons Ford audited the repairs), but the engine shield still fell down again and it got damaged, but I'm never taking my car back to Lindsay Ford! I really think that all the repairs were due to Lindsay Fords incredible incompetence. My service advisor at Lindsay Ford was actually really good at updates as they came in, every day he would call me and give me a status, somedays nothing had been done, or the mechanice working on my car had gone awol, or I could pick up my car. In July, the car did start making a significant amount more engine noise. I took it to Koons Ford, but they couldn't identify the source of the problem, so they couldn't fix it. The car did accelerate much quicker though, so at least I had that. A friend said it sounded like a racecar, lol. In February though I drove through a snowstorm and now the car is as quiet as it was when new. I put all of this in one entry due to not wanting to enter 15 repair trips. | ||
