Jun 201810000 mi | Brake pedal feel is very long, soft/spongy and then grabby. BMW dlr tech and Service person both drove it and said 'it is normal' and 'the nature of this car'. I drove another loaner from lot: same crappy brake feel. This X1 has The Worst brake pedal feel in 55+ years of my driving all kinds of cars and motorcycles. Our 17 yr old X5 brakes like it hit a wall of Jello; this 2017 X1 has really inferior braking feel, though it does brake well/short distance under very hard braking from higher speeds. Unacceptable, imo. |

May 20187500 mi | The car went into "limp mode" and noted a "Drivertrain Malfunction". The dealer replaced the fuel injectors and spark plugs. I drove it 12 miles and the problem repeated. Diagnosed with a cracked cylinder head. Cylinder head was replaced but CEL still lit. It's now been at the dealership for 40 days and I have initiated a Lemon Law buyback. | ||
Jun 20188000 mi | A long saga that ended in BMW giving me a replacement car. Over six weeks in the shop continuously. Replaced fuel injectors, plugs and wires, reflashed computer, and replaced cylinder head. |
