Ck Engine light on, dealer made written promise to correct, he did not, this began a chain of shop visits to our mechanic to correct problem shown on CEL codes. Problem caused by pure ignorance on side of mechanic. Car runs, drives extremely well, no problems with anything noted except CEL is still on. Took to local mechanic. Dealer had "fixed" problems by using super glue on leaky hoses. Repaired, CEL still on. When replacing the hoses, shop got a CEL code for the MAF sensor, this was replaced at this time - $175 - CEL still staying on. Car runs fine -The MAF is the part that the dealer said his mechanic replaced. CEL still on, returned to shop code now showing left bank catalytic converter. Ordered part, replaced manifold and catalytic converter. $350 CEL still on, back to shop, also hearing a bump when starting quick or stopping quick. Diagnosed as needing rear upper/lower bushings, also found rattling shifter cable. No work done, just diagnosis. |
