General NotesModels and statistics marked with an asterisk (*) have very low sample sizes. These results, visible only to logged-in members, provide only a rough estimate of car reliability.Any result under 20 repair trips per 100 cars is likely a result of the small sample size, and should be expected to increase to 20 or so in future updates.
New models often start out with high repair rates, and then improve as the manufacturer identifies and addresses common problems. MethodologyOnly successfully completed repairs are currently included in the analysis. Routine maintenance, most wear items, recalls, and problems fixed with just a reflash or warning light reset are not included.

| Sep | 2010 | 44000 | 0 | Flashing "low fluid level" in the windshield washer reservoir. The dealer claimed to have replaced the reservoir sending unit. This entails removal of the inner fender liner for access to the plastic reservoir. Problem returned after two weeks. |
| Dec | 2010 | 50000 | 0 | Water leak at top of windshield - ongoing problem, complaints had been made over the last year. New seal was ordered and installed - leak continued !!! Dealer ordered another seal and installed it - NO LEAKS !! I will NEVER buy another VW. Picking up car after the windshield repair, a distinct miss-fire was felt from the engine. Dealer diagnosed a bad coil pack, #6 cyl and replaced same. These coil packs were changed under a recall just 6 weeks previous. Will never buy a VW. Third visit to correct a flashing "low fluid level" in the windshield washer reservoir. Failed again in less than a day. Now being ignored since the warranty has now expired. |
| Jul | 2011 | 61000 | 300 | LEFT front window:replaced complete regulator. Called dealer for parts; was told that none existed in 600 USA dealers parts inventories - they had no idea how long to get one from VW. Bought part on-line, same day with overnight delivery. |
| Aug | 2011 | 62000 | 0 | Left window regulator failed in July, right regulator failed in August. VW is aware since they extended warranty to cover broken regulator only. Poor design from VW - 25 cent cable breaks and $40,000 is useless !!! Will never buy VW again. |

| Nov | 2012 | 76500 | 0 | Driveer side headlight went out for second time in less than a year. Dealership found a bad wiring harness and requested VW replace it at no charge due to how recently the light had been replaced. |
