What Our Members Are Saying about the Price of the the Toyota Avalon
| Price of the Toyota Avalon: Cons | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic FWD | Its Toyotas flagship vehicle - so no rebates/etc. But you pay for what you get :-) |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic FWD | No discount available when I shopped. |
| 2003 | 4dr Sedan 210-horsepower 3.0L V6 4-speed automatic FWD | Avalon price higher; not as negotiable-at several dealers. |
What Our Members Are Saying about the Price of the the Pontiac Vibe
| Price of the Pontiac Vibe: Pros | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2009 | 4dr Hatch 158-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed shiftable automatic FWD | Discontinued brand(Pontiac) & model(Vibe) that had been discounted. |
| 2009 | 4dr Hatch 158-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed shiftable automatic FWD | 0% 60mths, $800cad grad discount, and another $2000cad off on top of that. |
| 2007 | 4dr Hatch 126-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | At $6,000 less than the Toyota Matrix, it is a TRUE bargain. After all, it is essentially the same vehicle with a Pontiac badge on it. |
| 2006 | 4dr Hatch 126-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD | GM was willing to cut a great deal! |
| 2006 | 4dr Hatch 126-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | Basically the same car as the Matrix, but for you get much better options for significantly less money. Overall price quite reasonable. |
| 2005 | 4dr Hatch 126-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD | With the brand now gone, dealers are giving these things away. |
| 2004 | 4dr Hatch 130-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD | It was affordable (I bought it used) and still had the space I needed. |
| 2003 | 4dr Hatch 130-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | A new Vibe is dirt cheap these days; great value for the money...a used Vibe is an even better bargain. |
| 2003 | 4dr Hatch 130-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD | My Vibe Base was priced less than a comparably equipped Toyota Matrix XR at the time I bought mine. |
| Price of the Pontiac Vibe: Cons | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2009 | 4dr Hatch 158-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed shiftable automatic FWD | I thought the Vibe was overpriced. I only made the purchase when GM offered the 2009 at the same price as the 2006-7, with added safety features now standard. |
| 2009 | 4dr Hatch 132-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | Overall, I think the Vibe is overpriced. But then so is every other car on the market. That is what happen when the government bails out private companies when they make poor business decisions. |
| 2003 | 4dr Hatch 180-horsepower 1.8L I4 6-speed manual FWD | The Vibe GT would have cost far more than the Protege5. |

| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD |
The vehicle feels very solid. Smooth, comfortable ride to Sedona,Az from L.A. which was easy and I felt good after driving 6 hours. Mileage was surprising good and I scoot along pretty good. Closing the door has that Mercedes feel. Very quiet ride. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic FWD |
On a par with Lexus (or other good luxury car), but lower cost. |
| 2005 | 4dr Sedan 280-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic FWD |
Very well made almost luxurious sedan. Very similar to Lexus inside. after 8 years everything is still in very good condition and works well. |

| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD |
Having owned 8 different Toyotas over the years I have seen a steady decline in quality in recent years. This was well reflected in the Avalon. For an upscale car, the fit and finish were quite poor. No comparison with the Genesis. |

| 2009 | 4dr Hatch 132-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
Everything felt cheap - interior was especially weak. Too much cheap plastic. |
| 2009 | 4dr Hatch 158-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
workmanship a+++ but interior plastic will scratch if dinged. |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 126-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
Some fit and finish issues such as trim that came off (not covered under warranty) and radio buttons that lost labels. |
| 2006 | 4dr Hatch 126-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
A couple of plastic pieces did not fit together too well and when I heard a buzzing, pushing on them made it stop. |
| 2003 | 4dr Hatch 130-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
There are some small but noticable rattles and clicks that indicate some loose construction of some of the dash and door pieces. Nothing loud, but I notice them. |
| 2003 | 4dr Hatch 130-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Lots of minor things had to be fixed on warranty (loose wires, rattles, etc.)...the usual complaints that have plagued the Big 3 over the years. No major concerns or deal-breakers though. |
