While the STi is not cheap by any measure, it will outperform many cars twice its price. It only has one serious rival in its price/performance class (Mitsubishi Evo). Otherwise, it will eat most other sport sedans for breakfast. |

The A3 is not priced too competitively. It is much less expensive than a BMW 1 series, but still high for a compact/hatchback. Well equipped it is nearly as much as an A4. A loaded VW GTI (same chassis/drivetrain) costs much less, but insurance is higher. |
