| 2013 | 4dr Sedan 148-horsepower 2.0L H4 5-speed manual AWD |
Wow, this is what I said after 2 days with the vehicle, winter driving, and its cold winter here. I averaged 7.6 l/100km, mixed city and highway driving, at -20 celsius, through snow most time of these 2 days. Very impressive for awd vehicle! |
| 2012 | 4dr Hatch 148-horsepower 2.0L H4 6-speed shiftable CVT AWD |
Good reported gas mileage. |
| 2012 | 4dr Sedan 148-horsepower 2.0L H4 6-speed shiftable CVT AWD |
Got 36 MPG right out of the dealer. Have gotten up to 39 MPG with cruise |
| 2012 | 4dr Sedan 148-horsepower 2.0L H4 6-speed shiftable CVT AWD |
Oustanding fuel economy for a all wheel drive...the highest mpg all wheel drive of any manufacturer. |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 170-horsepower 2.5L H4 4-speed shiftable automatic AWD |
much better than expected, considering all wheel drive, and a bit of a heavy foot |
| 2004 | 4dr Sedan 165-horsepower 2.5L H4 5-speed manual AWD |
28+ MPG, nothing to complain about. |
| 2004 | 4dr Wagon 165-horsepower 2.5L H4 4-speed automatic AWD |
I get 23-26mpg around town, 28-30 highway, which I consider very very good for an AWD car. I get same fuel economy as many non AWD cars. |
| 2004 | 4dr Wagon turbocharged 227hp 2.0L H4 5-speed manual AWD |
I have gotten 28mpg on the highway, which makes it perfect for road trips. |
| 2002 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 227hp 2.0L H4 5-speed manual AWD |
Average about 25mpg in evenly mixed driving. |

| 2010 | 4dr Hatch 170-horsepower 2.5L H4 5-speed manual AWD |
Really crappy, especially for a 2.5L 4 cylinder engine. 22 MPG average. 18 city, 27 highway is what I got. |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 265hp 2.5L H4 5-speed manual AWD |
Not really dislike, I didnt expect civic like mpg. Around town mileage suffers, but on the highways the car cruises quite easily. You can expect ~25mpg on average combined (with no led food). Impressive for the hp and AWD. |
| 2009 | 4dr Hatch 170-horsepower 2.5L H4 4-speed shiftable automatic AWD |
low fuel economy because of AWD components |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 170-horsepower 2.5L H4 4-speed shiftable automatic AWD |
For such a small car with NA 170hp engine the economy is rather poor ~24mpg. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 170-horsepower 2.5L H4 4-speed automatic AWD |
Pathetic for a compact sedan at <28 mpg highway. The AWD system must be a huge fuel sink. |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch turbocharged 305hp 2.5L H4 6-speed manual AWD |
It drinks gas like a collage student on a drinking binge |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch turbocharged 305hp 2.5L H4 6-speed manual AWD |
The fuel economy was not within our target range for a new car. |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch turbocharged 305hp 2.5L H4 6-speed manual AWD |
The WRX did not get the kind of mileage our family was looking for in a new vehicle. |
| 2007 | 4dr Wagon turbocharged 224hp 2.5L H4 5-speed manual AWD |
For a car of that size, the fuel economy is dismal. I get about 19 in the city, which is where most of my driving is done. That is marginally better than any SUV. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 2.5L H4 6-speed manual AWD |
very heavy on fuel. Between 6 and 8 km per litre standard |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 2.5L H4 6-speed manual AWD |
Not a gas guzzler, but not a gas sipper either. Aggressive driving = poor fuel mileage |
| 2006 | 4dr Wagon 173-horsepower 2.5L H4 5-speed manual AWD |
Not as good as other 4 cylinders(19 - 20 mpg on the city) |
| 2005 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 2.5L H4 6-speed manual AWD |
Average 18mpg with mixed driving. Requires premium. |
| 2005 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 227hp 2.0L H4 5-speed manual AWD |
I get 20 MPG or less and have to use premium. |
| 2004 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 227hp 2.0L H4 4-speed automatic AWD |
Expect 20-24 mpg depending on how you drive. One does not buy an AWD turbo Subaru with fuel economy in mind. These cars were meant to be driven in a spirited manner. Keep in mind vehicle is required to be used with premium fuel. |
| 2004 | 4dr Wagon 165-horsepower 2.5L H4 5-speed manual AWD |
Unless you are kind and watch the RPM/gear ratios, the Single Overhead cam engine is not miserly. |
| 2004 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 2.5L H4 6-speed manual AWD |
16/22 MPG City/Highway...ouch. |
| 2004 | 4dr Wagon turbocharged 227hp 2.0L H4 5-speed manual AWD |
If you hammer the throttle a lot, do not expect great mpg numbers. This is common sense really, not something I dislike, just something to note. |
| 2003 | 4dr Wagon 165-horsepower 2.5L H4 4-speed automatic AWD |
We got 28 to 30 at best. I miss the AWD though. |
| 2003 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 227hp 2.0L H4 5-speed manual AWD |
Pretty thirtsty car if You want to use it as a daily commuter. |
