Coming from a Trailblazer, we like the average of 21-22 MPG in mixed driving, as were used to about 17 MPG. Fuel economy climbs toward the rated 26 MPG the more highway driving we do.

For the first almost three years after we got the car, it gave 21+ mpg in town & 24+ mpg on the road.
2005 4dr SUV 153-horsepower 2.3L I4

For an SUV with a 4cyl and 4wd I get avg of 22 MPG mixed city and highway. I usually get 23-26 on freeway only. This is good.

For some reason when new Michelin All Terrain tires with Nitrogen air replaced the Champions from the factory, it plummeted to 17 & 20 mpg. No explanation from Michelin, Costco or Ford/Mercury - they have no idea why.
