As a Mercedes-Benz the overall quality has been above average in the longer term.
2008 4dr SUV 335-horsepower 4.7L V8
7-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Very solid build quality. Feels just like all our other Mercedes we have owned in the past 30 years.
Reliability and Durability of the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2007 4dr SUV 335-horsepower 4.7L V8
7-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Truck to some degree is overengineered. Review of history of supplier and manufactuing misses to include: missed welds (safety campaign) on the tow hitch, air compressor have premature failure due to "bad batch", fuel injector /cam position sensor , etc.
