Zoom-Zoom, size XXL! A member from Georgia, United States Best Reason to Buy the Mazda CX-9: Exterior styling Exterior design is very sleek and looks like it should cost a lot more than it does! Best Reason Not to Buy the Mazda CX-9: Fuel economy EPA ratings of 17/24, but I've averaged barely 18 overall in my first 1200 miles...hoping for a slight improvement after break-in. UPDATE- as of 02/11/2013, I am averaging 20-21mpg overall with 4200 miles on the clock. On a recent 380-mile interstate trip, I managed 22.8mpg with the cruise set at 80mph.
