Best Reason Not to Buy the Kia Sorento: Powertrain performance The 4 cylinder is okay but I'm used to manual transmission sports cars so it feels a bit slow, especially up hills. I think the sound of the engine makes it seem slower than it actually is. You get a feeling of control and confidence. The ability to tow heavier amounts compared to other in-class vehicle is a definite plus. Also, it will do 13 second 1/4miles. Best Reason Not to Buy the Kia Sorento: Insurance & depreciation Insurance rates are high being a foreign vehicle. Depreciation is significant due to the general populus not realizing the potential of these vehicles. I try to drive as economically as possible and can usually squeeze 18-19 mpg in mixed driving (70%/30% split between highway and local). Efficient on the highway sips the fuel even with the full time AWD. Live at 7000 ft. so high elevation and mountainous terrain driving are common.
