What Our Members Are Saying about the Price of the the Jeep Grand Cherokee
| Price of the Jeep Grand Cherokee: Pros | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2011 | 4dr SUV 360-horsepower 5.7L V8 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range | Great value for as many features |
| 2008 | 4dr SUV turbocharged 215hp 3.0L V6 Diesel 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range | Due to high gas prices, Chrysler is offering great incentives on their SUVs. I was able to purchase for almost $10,000 less then MSRP. |
| 2005 | 4dr SUV 230-horsepower 4.7L V8 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range | Because of horribale depreciation, I got a 2005 Jeep with low miles very cheap. |
| Price of the Jeep Grand Cherokee: Cons | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2007 | 4dr SUV 330-horsepower 5.7L V8 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range | The Overland is very expensive considering the 2007 warranty lasts only a year!!!!!!! Yes, BIG downer---and the aftermarket warranty has some self-serving aspects like not paying for repairs that go bad. Previous Jeeps had a great warranty. |
| 2005 | 4dr SUV 210-horsepower 3.7L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD | not enough options for the price. too generic. not enough interior options style |
| 2005 | 4dr SUV 210-horsepower 3.7L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD | too pricy for options included |
What Our Members Are Saying about the Price of the the Volkswagen Touareg
| Price of the Volkswagen Touareg: Cons | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2007 | 4dr SUV turbocharged 310hp 4.9L V10 Diesel 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range | At $72,000, it is not an SUV for the masses. VW only sells about 400 of the diesels per year in the states. There is a reason...it is a $20,000 upcharge for the diesel. |
| 2004 | 4dr SUV 220-horsepower 3.2L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range | The price for a new Touareg puts it quite out of the reach of most SUV buyers. The higher the price the higher the payment. Though for that high price you do get an awesome warranty and vehicle once all of the glitches have been addressed under warranty. |

| 2011 | 4dr SUV 360-horsepower 5.7L V8 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range |
The interior is very nice and looks and feels high quality. |
| Materials and Workmanship of the Jeep Grand Cherokee: Cons | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2011 | 4dr SUV 360-horsepower 5.7L V8 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range |
I have had two problems: A bent shaft in the transfer case at 310 miles, fixed under warranty and a random failure of the key fob starting at 1100 miles. Not fixed yet because it is currently OK - able to get working by removing and replacing battery. |
| 2010 | 4dr SUV 357-horsepower 5.7L V8 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range |
The interior materials are nice enough, but lacks the little finishing touches you would see in other SUVs in the price range. I do appreciate the actual aluminum trim (not the silver painted plastic found in most other vehicles) |
| 2008 | 4dr SUV turbocharged 215hp 3.0L V6 Diesel 5-speed shiftable automatic RWD |
The interior feels obviously cheap, the plastics are mostly hard and you can see mold release lines. The thread in the leather steering wheel cover is unraveling. The taillights are loose, as are the plastic fasteners for the wheelwell liners. |
| 2005 | 4dr SUV 230-horsepower 4.7L V8 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range |
Interior plastics and cloth seats that stain with plain old water. |
| 2005 | 4dr SUV 230-horsepower 4.7L V8 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range |
pinion seal failed at 46,000 miles. Replaced at 47,000 with differential fluid change. Pinion bearing and u-joint failed at 52,000. U-joint is machine pressed so to replace the u-joint, whole driveshaft had to be replaced. |
| 2004 | 4dr SUV 235-horsepower 4.7L V8 4-speed automatic AWD w/low range |
Sub par interior materials |
| 2002 | 4dr SUV 235-horsepower 4.7L V8 5-speed automatic AWD w/low range |
Cheap materials, and poor reliability on non-drivetrain issues. Both front window raising mechanisms needed replacing after warranty because of known design defect--no Chrysler support at all. |
| 2002 | 4dr SUV 235-horsepower 4.7L V8 5-speed automatic AWD w/low range |
Poor fit and finish. Design errors. |

This car is German throughout. Everything in the car is high quality. Straight seams and panels. No squeaks |
| 2005 | 4dr SUV 240-horsepower 3.2L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range |
Interior materials are excellent. Real wood trim, brushed aluminum accents and etc. make for a top quality experience. Fit and finish is excellent as well. Overall feel of the Touareg is very solid without rattles ans squeaks. |
| 2004 | 4dr SUV 220-horsepower 3.2L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range |
Superb quality. All the steel parts are high quality steel ... unbendable. The leather is best quality I have ever seen ... rugged, but still soft. The ergonomic engineering is like those people were inside my mind! |
