20084dr SUV 185-horsepower 2.7L V6
4-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Most available standard features which are extras on other small SUVs and jack up their price. Got it for less than the advertised price. Had about 15 vehicles to choose from at below the advertised price unlike most dealers that have only 1 or 2.
20084dr SUV 242-horsepower 3.3L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
With high residual value, monthly lease payments for full-loaded model were comparable to base model Honda Pilot and Nissan Murano.
20084dr SUV 185-horsepower 2.7L V6

20074dr SUV 242-horsepower 3.3L V6

Price was fair when I bought it.. Has come down since the drop in auto sales. Just hope it can go 150K or more on it.

Lease rates were completely ridiculous compared to the Mazda. Wanted you to buy, but did not have good interest rates available.

4-speed automatic AWD
The price was within budget
20084dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.0L V6

At my purchase price of $15800 I think my Escape is an unmatched value.
20024dr SUV 127-horsepower 2.0L I4
5-speed manual AWD
Bought vehicle with low interest. And price of 19,600 was very reasonable. Especially by SUV standards
Price of the Ford Escape: Cons

20084dr SUV 133-horsepower 2.3L I4 Hybrid
CVT FWD
Hybrid was quite a premium over the V6.
20074dr SUV 133-horsepower 2.3L I4 Hybrid
CVT FWD
It is not economical when comparing standard engine vs. hybrid engine. You have to do it because you want a hybrid for the environment. However, it is 10K cheeper than Toyota Highlander Hybrid, but it is a lighter car too. Tow capacity is 1000 vs 3000.
20064dr SUV 133-horsepower 2.3L I4 Hybrid
CVT AWD
As a hybrid, expect to pay a premium price.

2008 4dr SUV 242-horsepower 3.3L V6

Interior looked upscale, doors solid, no squeaks & rattles, thick materials everywhere.
2007 4dr SUV 185-horsepower 2.7L V6
4-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Nice matte finish on doors and dash. Although not soft touch, the materials still feel and look very nice.
2007 4dr SUV 242-horsepower 3.3L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Seems well built. After 30K, no rattles and handles still like new
2007 4dr SUV 242-horsepower 3.3L V6

No shop vists
2007 4dr SUV 242-horsepower 3.3L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Good fit and finish, no creaks, even the fake wood trim and fake chrome accents looked good.
2006 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Seem to be well made and has a solid feeling

YearBody/PowertrainComment
2011 4dr SUV 276-horsepower 3.5L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Interior material feel slightly cheap and dated. A lot of hard plastics. Not as bad as some competitors (cr-v, Venza, Equinox) but should be as good as the Sonata.
2008 4dr SUV 242-horsepower 3.3L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Some rattling common just because the build quality, interior is I would say subpar. Sometimes the seatbeats smack again the side of the door and if I only open the back windows then it is just a nuisance. The cd player has issues, not always reading CDS
2007 4dr SUV 185-horsepower 2.7L V6
4-speed shiftable automatic FWD
headliner had to be fixed soon after purchase and passenger hand grip came off when being held in a turn. Interior lighting is among worst I have ever seen.

What Our Members Are Saying about Ford Escape Materials and Workmanship

2008 4dr SUV 133-horsepower 2.3L I4 Hybrid

Have had the car for a year and a half. No faults found or encountered. Everything works every time, no rattles or loose trim.
2006 4dr SUV 153-horsepower 2.3L I4

I have been able to clean up after the kids, and they have not hurt the interior. Up front, everything feels good and has held together.
Materials and Workmanship of the Ford Escape: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2012 4dr SUV 171-horsepower 2.5L I4
6-speed automatic FWD
INTERIOR: The overabundance of hard plastics inside is both a blessing and a curse. The dashboard has a simple dimpled texture that reduces glare, and while it's none-too luxurious it also won't crack or deform from years in the sun. Likewise, the hard plastic door panels impart a sense of cheapness, but they're also easy to clean and the top edge won't wear out or deform from having my elbow on them. The front seat "leather" is thin and heavily plasticized; the rear seats don't even get that, being covered instead in vinyl like many Ford trucks and SUVs. Given the new vehicle sticker price of $28,000, the materials should have been much nicer - and are on the 2013 model.
2012 4dr SUV 171-horsepower 2.5L I4
6-speed automatic FWD
EXTERIOR: Numerous minor fit & finish flaws, including a sizable gap between the left headlight and grille assemblies, and other sloppy panel fits. The most series flaw was a quarter-size paint blemish that started to "bubble" under the clearcoat on the left-side C pillar at 7,000 miles that required the entire panel to be reshot. (Incidentally, the body shop's paintwork is noticeably superior to the factory finish, with much smoother application and no orange peel.)
2007 4dr SUV 133-horsepower 2.3L I4 Hybrid
CVT AWD
windshield washer spray from hood ..not to strong...tiddles on the bottom of the window...passenger side stopped working...stream blows all over on the highway
2006 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic AWD
Lots and lots of plastic. Some panel fit is not clean
2005 4dr SUV 153-horsepower 2.3L I4
5-speed manual AWD
The seat cover materials are the worst in a car I've ever owned. Plain water stains them terribly. The dealer admitted it was a problem with the XLS model's cheap materials, but couldn't/wouldn't do anything about it.
