Variable valve powertrain delivers very good city mileage (16 mile trips per day @ 22mpg) and above expectation highway (425 mile trip at 32mpg). Highway is usually above 30 even in slow interstate traffic in the city.
Hyundai Azera Fuel Economy: Cons

2008 4dr Sedan 263-horsepower 3.8L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
The gas mileage is respectable but lower than most cars in the large sedan class.
2007 4dr Sedan 263-horsepower 3.8L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Poor mileage.
2006 4dr Sedan 263-horsepower 3.8L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
While stellar fuel economy can't be expected in a 3600 Lb car with a 3.8L V6, it does leave something to be desired, averaging somewhere between 15-17MPG in a mix of city and highway driving. Pure city driving returns closer to 13-15 MPG (although the peppy engine may have something to do with that). The car would really benefit from a 6th gear.
2006 4dr Sedan 263-horsepower 3.8L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
short distance driving exhibits just fair fuel economy
