Reliability and Durability of the Honda Fit: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2011 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed manual FWD
When my 14 year old Subaru became a maintenance headache, I asked my mechanic what brand of car she would recommend for a replacement. She strongly recommended Honda or Toyota.
2011 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed manual FWD
Honda brand is known for reliability. This particular car has been in Europe as the Jazz for some time and it has excellent reliability statistics. Also- the sheer number of old Hondas I see on the road.
2011 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed manual FWD
Honda like Toyota make super cars maybe not bulletproof but quality for sure! I have to admit I did think about looking at the Elantra and soul. GM lost me forever in the mid 80s with their diesel conversions absolute dogs....never again
2011 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed automatic FWD
Jazz (Fit) is rated #6 in Europe in terms of reliability by a warranty company. Few problems reported on Truedelta. Consumer Reports rates reliability high. No long term test I have read has had any issues.

5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Not a single problem in the 32,000 miles we owned it, just oil, filter and tire changes.
2010 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
The car, although brand new, is solidly built. The Honda reputation is that the car will practically outlive me. I expect it to be reliable for a very long time.

Replacement tire choices very limited and the stock (Dunlop) tires do not get very many miles before needing replacement, 23,000 miles in our case.
