They have a bulletin that says they have seen this problem with the V6 engines and do not have a fix for it yet.

After they replaced the transmission, the sound was still there. After the transmission replacement didn't fix the problem,took the car in again for the roaring noise coming from the rear of the car. They replaced the right rear wheel bearing, which fixed the problem.
