| Price of the Honda Accord: Pros | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic FWD | Best car for the price. Unable to obtain any like american car for the same monthly payments and we have leased for 12 years. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic FWD | Got 2.9 APR for 5 Years (0.9 APR was also available for 3 Years) |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic FWD | Got 2.9APR for five Years(.9 APR was also available for 3 Years) |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 190-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | I bought in December 2007 in Woodbridge, VA. I got a great deal. All said and done after all taxes and fees: Less than $21,500. |
| 2008 | 2dr Coupe 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic FWD | a great value for the money - it compares to BMW 3 series, Nissan Maxima, Saab, or Volvo all much more $ |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 190-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | The car had 5K miles on it; the price for a loaded EX-L (no navi) was $19,400. It now has 12K & is very nice especially for the price. |
| 2008 | 2dr Coupe 190-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | its cheap! It is a great bang for the buck. I could not find a better car for 22K |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 166-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | Got a good deal on my vehicle, which I purchased at the end of the model year. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD | Paid cash. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed manual FWD | price was significantly lower than list |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed manual FWD | The Accord is priced at a very reasonable price point for the different models. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD | $22K out the door; 3.9% for 36 months |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 166-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | about $1500 less than the same Camry |
| 2006 | 2dr Coupe 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD | I received a $3500 incentive for buying a "left-over" car. I purchased a new 2006 Accord in Jan/2007. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed manual FWD | I must have hit the dealer at the right time because I am paying less for the V6 6SP than I was paying for a 2003 EX-L 4 cyl w/5SP and with no money down, only first months payment due at signing. |
| 2005 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | Price was 19 out the door including tax for me new in MT. Dealership cost may be high, but the chances your car is going to break down is nil, so thats even more thirft. |
| 2005 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | We bought a DX with dealer-installed AC. $13,000 plus a Plymouth Breeze with a blown head gasket. Not bad for a brand new car with 11 miles on the odometer. |
| 2005 | 2dr Coupe 240-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed manual FWD | Using CarsDirect, my price was 23.4 exclussive of TTL |
| 2002 | 2dr Coupe 200-horsepower 3.0L V6 4-speed automatic FWD | In 2001, I bought a fully-equipped Honda Accord Coupe brand new for less than $21,000. |
| 2002 | 4dr Sedan 150-horsepower 2.3L I4 4-speed automatic FWD | see above |
| Price of the Honda Accord: Cons | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 190-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | The dealer was terrible. No price break offered or given upon my request. I walked. |
| 2008 | 2dr Coupe 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic FWD | See above. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic FWD | The car is expensive, lets hope the resale stays up long enough. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic FWD | If your replacing an Accord with an older Accord, say 4 to 6 years older you will reap the benefits of their resale value, otherwise nearing $30,000 your first one can bring some steep payments and rhey expect much larger downpayments going into a lease. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD | The new car prices are over rated for what you get because the value loss in the first 3 years. |
| 2004 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | In my area used Accords cost more year by year than Camrys do. |
| 2004 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | Year for year used Accord prices in my area are higher than Camry prices. |
| 2004 | 4dr Sedan 240-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD | The low deprciation is a double edged sword and V6 Accords were about $3000-4000 more than any of the Maximas I was looking at. |
| 2003 | 4dr Sedan 240-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD | Pricey to buy both new and used, but worth it for the reliability and resale. |
| 2000 | 2dr Coupe 200-horsepower 3.0L V6 4-speed automatic FWD | It was simply too expensive. |
What Our Members Are Saying about the Price of the the Honda Civic
| Price of the Honda Civic: Pros | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | honda lease rate is very good |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | I got good interest rates from Honda. They also paid off the remainder of my lease on my Ford Ranger so I could trade it in 2 months early. There are also many options available on a lease. Overall it was cheaper than a similar Toyota Corolla. |
| 2008 | 2dr Coupe 197-horsepower 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD | It is the "fastest" car under $20k and very fun to drive for the price. You do not feel like you are driving an "economy" car. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | While not the bargain they once were, Honda still offers good value for the money. Maintenance costs are relatively low as well. |
| 2007 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | My Civic was reasonably priced and monthly payments are easy on the budget. |
| 2007 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | Not expensive for what you get. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 197-horsepower 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD | Overall total cost of ownership was far less than other sporty models, to the tune of over $1200/year, before even considering the lower price and less depreciation. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | Cheap. Got it used from dealer for 16,000 w/only 3,000 miles on it. |
| 2003 | 2dr Coupe 127-horsepower 1.7L I4 5-speed manual FWD | Lots of bang for what we paid. |
| 2002 | 4dr Sedan 115-horsepower 1.7L I4 4-speed automatic FWD | This car was within my price range for monthly payments. |
| Price of the Honda Civic: Cons | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | A comparable Civic is about $5,000 more than the Forte. Interest rates for 5 year plans were also higher. |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | good sales people but not much in the way of discounts or coming off the sticker or dealing ,at sticker they make at least 1500 per car and they dont really want to deal any off the sticker and say they will sell eventually |
| 2009 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | too expensive |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | price of 20 k Euro a little too high |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | to expensive at 20,200 Euros |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | Too pricey for what you get. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | You can expect to pay somewhat of a premium for the name, compared to other cars of similar features/economy. |
| 2007 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | In order to get the features that were comparable to the Elantra I had to at least get the LX model. It would have cost me close to $5,000-7,000 more to get an LX civic coupe versus the final cost of my Elantra. |
| 2007 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | It costs more, with less to offer, than the Scion tC ... unless you can haggle them down on the price. And good luck with that at a Honda dealer. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | Civic is a good vehicle overall, but Honda name commands a higher price with few cutting edge features by comparison to usual (Toyota/ VW /Mazda) and not so common (Hyundai / Kia / Pontiac) rivals. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | Price was non-negotiable in 2006 it should be better in the current economy. |
| 2003 | 4dr Sedan 93-horsepower 1.3L I4 Hybrid 5-speed manual FWD | Do not buy a hybrid if you want to save money. It will cost you more than an LX Civic, even in the long run. |
| 2003 | 2dr Coupe 115-horsepower 1.7L I4 4-speed automatic FWD | No room for bargaining, and the car was $4000 more than the Protege. |
| 2003 | 4dr Sedan 115-horsepower 1.7L I4 4-speed automatic FWD | Have a high resale value, so it might not be on the top of the list when buying used. |
| 2002 | 4dr Sedan 127-horsepower 1.7L I4 5-speed manual FWD | too high |

It is Honda. Materials are good and fitted very well. |
| 2008 | 2dr Coupe 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 6-speed manual FWD |
Leather seating surfaces and dash materials are simply beter than Nissan, Toyota, Mazda or most American brands. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
Everything matches and everything fits. There are no questionable gaps or slightly mismatched colors, no annoying squeaks or rattles, no stiff controls. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
Put together really well. To me the materials and workmanship are of a car that is worth more money to buy. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
Interior trim materials high quality and excellent fit. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 190-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
The interior has some quality to it; the leather is soft & supple; there are no annoying rattles/squeaks. |

No rattles or squeaks. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
The fit always seems to be perfect, doors close with a solid sound, windows work quietly & swiftly, controls always work perfectly. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed manual FWD |
Well made. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed manual FWD |
Very well made. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
When you shut the doors you can just tell that everything fits together well. The leather interior is very nice. No gaps in the panels anywhere on the car. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 166-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
The interior fits and comes together as one might hope for. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 166-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
It feels more expensive than it is it. Every control has a nice smooth feel and weight. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 166-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
I believe the workmanship of the Accord is far better than most american vehicles. No rattles or other problems occur and this was the case with my last Accord. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 166-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Quality and Honda reputation |
| 2006 | 2dr Coupe 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
The interior materials are a notch above other cars in its class and they look as though someone cared how they went together. The feel of the switchgear is of a high quality and feel. The car overall just seems screwed together very well. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
Very well crafted interior and exterior |
| 2005 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
All the materials that your hands encounter are smooth and durable (in the EX-L trim). |
| 2005 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Solid, well engineered. |
| 2005 | 2dr Coupe 240-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed manual FWD |
No complaints at all |
| 2005 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Panel gaps are uniform and tiny, everything is put together properly, there are no rattles or broken pieces, and everything feels nicer than it should. Everything is of a high quality and feels better than you might expect of such a reasonably priced car |
| 2004 | 4dr Sedan 240-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
very well finished |
| 2004 | 2dr Coupe 240-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
Nothing has broken or needed replacement or repair in the total time of ownership. Could not ask for more. I do take care of it by keeping it clean and at least twice a year giving it a good cleaning inside and out. |
| 2004 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
top notch, no trim faiure in 6 years, no hardware failure either. |
| 2004 | 4dr Sedan 240-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
After 70,000 miles, not a single rattle. |
| 2004 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Fit and finish is very good. Take exception with cloth upholstery that stains easily and trunk that still has old style hinges that intrude into trunk space. |
| 2001 | 4dr Sedan 200-horsepower 3.0L V6 4-speed automatic FWD |
Quality |
| Materials and Workmanship of the Honda Accord: Cons | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2011 | 4dr Sedan 190-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Paint chips/scratches very easily, though I hear this is a common complaint with the new EPA mandated water based automotive paints. |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 190-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Many corners are cut on the car. Such as: no underhood trim, no trim under the trunk lid, no driver and passenger lower trim covers, lack of a "close" function on the A/C vents on the center console stack. |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 190-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Again, the car has been "cheapened" |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 177-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
definitely are a bit cheaper from the previous generation, and the workmanship is below toyota and some fords |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 190-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Poor fit and finish. Much lower than my 5 previous Hondas. |
| 2008 | 2dr Coupe 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
Sheet metal and paint finish is not as good as the any European or American. Fit and finishing inside and outside is very inconsonance. Lot of rattles and road noises as well. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 190-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
material that cushions the trunk is very cheap and the material on the doors look cheap |
| 2008 | 2dr Coupe 268-horsepower 3.5L V6 6-speed manual FWD |
Hard, easily scratched plastics litter the interior. Chrome door handles replaced by flimsy plastic pieces. Misaligned panels. Flashing visible on the edge of some interior pieces. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 177-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Shoddy QA/QC - rattling windows, creaks & squeaks in dash & glove box. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
It has several (admittedly minor) plastic rattles, especially in cold weather. I find that it to be inconsistent with the rest of the car which is stylish and well designed. Would be ok for a less expensive car, but not for Accord. |

Everything inside the car feels cheap and junky, I suppose thats what you get for the price though. |
| 2006 | 2dr Coupe 244-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
I have had numerous quality control issues with this vehicle. Everything from scratched glass to loose heatshields and loose seat rails. Also some interior materials are cheap, especially considering this car costs over in $36,000 Canadian Dollars (new) |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 253-horsepower 3.0L V6 Hybrid 5-speed automatic FWD |
Poor quality interior materials when compared to the Saab. Everything on the Saab was very well made with high quality materials. The Honda doesn't compare. |
| 2003 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.4L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
cheap seating material, engine makes bad sounds |
| 2003 | 4dr Sedan 240-horsepower 3.0L V6 5-speed automatic FWD |
Transmissions and V6 engines are very unreliable. Friend owns another 2003 and he has electrical problems. Made in America quality is pretty lousy. Everyone in my neighborhood does not buy a new one when the old one dies - I plan to follow. |

| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Most cars look good in the showroom. It is over time that the differences in quality are exposed nakedly and beyond dispute. Personal experience and empirical evidence demonstrate the Civic will be squeak and groan free 5 and 10 years down the line. |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 197-horsepower 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD |
Every surface mates great - inside and out. A little too much flat plastic inside (Mazdaspeed3 is so much better use of plastic). |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Fit and finish in the interior is most noticeable, although many new cars look good; panel gaps are very precise. |
| 2007 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Nothing in this car feels low rent to me. All the panels line up nicely and fit together seemlessly. The switches and nobs dont "click clack" when pressed or spun and dont rattle around in their spaces but have a nice heavy feel. The cloth is soft. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
For this class of car the interior is nice, although not plush. The seats are generally firm and supportive. This car has a rigid, quality feel, and the body panels are tight. |

typical honda... |
| 2005 | 4dr Sedan 115-horsepower 1.7L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Civics are tight and solid as the day I bought them even at 12 years and 200K mi on my 93, and 45K on the 05. Like new. |
| 2004 | 2dr Coupe 127-horsepower 1.7L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
The car was well built and they paid attention to detail. It is almost unpleasant to drive other cars because mine is so well designed. |
| 2003 | 2dr Coupe 127-horsepower 1.7L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Few or no flaws in materials and design. No corrective work needed. |
| 2003 | 2dr Hatch 160-horsepower 2.0L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
panels fit closely together. no sharp edges. well thought out engineering of placement of parts. |
| 2003 | 4dr Sedan 93-horsepower 1.3L I4 Hybrid 5-speed manual FWD |
Clean design, nice fit and finish, nothing flashy. |
| 2002 | 4dr Sedan 127-horsepower 1.7L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Parts fit well, very few mechanical failures over 170,000 miles |
| 2002 | 2dr Coupe 160-horsepower 2.0L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
This car is made very nice. |

Small items throughout the interior have fallen apart. Rear luggage hooks, handbrake cover, auxiliary input jack, and sun-visors have all failed or are in-process. Center brake-light has also failed. Paint is thin, chips easily, and has degraded quickly. 4.5 years in to ownership the atomic blue paint is in far worse condition than our 11 year old Ford Explorer. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Two recalls- brake light switch from too much steering grease and rear wheel bearing from torn seal from factory! |
| 2006 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Poor materials used and car creaked and rattle every bump in the road. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Ugly plastic, though very durable, looks cheap, chrome highlights that reflect sun into eyes. |
