General NotesHow do we select "competing car models"? Users of TrueDelta's car price comparison tool most often compare these cars to the Ford Fusion.Models and statistics marked with an asterisk (*) have very low sample sizes. These results, visible only to logged-in members, provide only a rough estimate of car reliability.
Any result under 20 repair trips per 100 cars is likely a result of the small sample size, and should be expected to increase to 20 or so in future updates.
New models often start out with high repair rates, and then improve as the manufacturer identifies and addresses common problems. MethodologyOnly successfully completed repairs are currently included in the analysis. Routine maintenance, most wear items, recalls, and problems fixed with just a reflash or warning light reset are not included.

So far, not one problem |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan 156-horsepower 2.5L I4 Hybrid CVT FWD |
I have had zero defects or problems in the 28+K miles on the car. The only complaint I have with the car is the sun visors are not user friendly, they have fixed detents and you can not get them to stay in the desired location without a little effort. |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan 175-horsepower 2.5L I4 6-speed automatic FWD |
Consumer Reports says more reliable than Accord or Camry. After 9,000 miles, so far so good. We were going to buy an Accord but they have luggage mashing trunk hinges, but not the Fusion. Plus the Accords are ugly. |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan 175-horsepower 2.5L I4 6-speed manual FWD |
History of the previous model showed above average reliability in Consumer Reports |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan 175-horsepower 2.5L I4 6-speed automatic FWD |
Well engineered and assembled. Comfortable ride and handling. No rattles, loose trim, etc. Good fit and finish. |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan 240-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD |
I had a 2006 Ford Fusion SE V6 before my 2010 and it was an excellent car, and only got the 2010 because I fell in love with the looks of it. I put 65,000km on my 06 Fusion in 2 and a half years and no problems. It was a great and very reliable car. |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
feels solid, good reviews |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 221-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed automatic FWD |
Built strong with attention to detail. Have heard nothing but good things from fellow Fusion owners as to weather they were happy they bought theirs or not, so I bought mine, and agree 100% |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
When comparing reliability with some other cars I considered, Nissan Altima for example, I noticed that Ford Fusion owners rate its reliability close to the owners of Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Past results have been favorable and I have had no issue after 2900 miles. |

Previous models were rated highly, and it was rated above a Toyota Camry by Consumer Reports for reliability. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 221-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed automatic FWD |
Consumer Reports recommended for both previous model years, 2006 & 2007. This was a large influence. |

| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 221-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed automatic AWD |
No repairs yet, but since its inception in 2006 the Fusion has been one of the most reliable cars on the road, especially impressive for a completely new model. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 221-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed automatic FWD |
Have had good luck with Fords, and there have not been any major issues with the Fusion since its release in the U.S. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
No recalls is a great thing. Have had no problems with any mechanical parts. If any small issue arose, Ford dealer would fix it easily. Nothing seems fragile in this car. When closing the door you get a nice solid sound, no rattles or anything. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
In the two years I have driven the car I have not had to take it back to the dealer for warranty work. Compare this to the Mazda I owned prior to this car that had to go back 3 times for the same problem. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 221-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed automatic FWD |
Currently have onwed the car for over 1 year and not a single issue! Only Oil changes. By no means do I baby the car either. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
I ended up knowing the Service manager and he told me about the engine/transmission combo (4cl/5spM) that he has friends that run this combo with 200 miles plus with no issues. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 221-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed automatic FWD |
The car has had few reliability issues. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 221-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed automatic FWD |

This is a new car in hyrbid that has no track record |

Absoulutely aweful. Put 2 clutches and 1 engine in this car. It was used as a family vehicle, but was in the shop more than we drove it. |
