A member from New York, United States Best Reason to Buy the Ford Five Hundred: Handling For a large car, the Five Hundred handles very well. High speed cornering is the best attribute. The steering is nicely weighted and has decent feedback. Despite the good handling, it has a very smooth ride. Other Reasons to Buy the Ford Five Hundred: Reliability & durability This member owns or leases the reviewed vehicle. read full review |

A member from Texas, United States Best Reason to Buy the Ford Five Hundred: Exterior styling Conservative yet does not blend in with the crowd. Best Reason Not to Buy the Ford Five Hundred: Powertrain performance Could use some more refinement and power. I think the 2008-2009 has been fixed with the 3.5L engine. Other Reasons to Buy the Ford Five Hundred: Handling, Safety & braking, Reliability & durability, Brand reputation & image This member used to own or lease the reviewed vehicle. read full review |

A member from Wisconsin, United States Best Reason Not to Buy the Ford Five Hundred: Ride smoothness I felt the ride was a little harsh for a full sized sedan. I had to replace the Contis at 22K with BS and the ride improved to an acceptable level. It is still a little rough on bumpy road, but I guess that is the Euro influence. Other Reasons to Buy the Ford Five Hundred: Fuel economy, Cargo capacity & towing, Reliability & durability Other Reasons Not to Buy the Ford Five Hundred: Powertrain performance, Quietness This member used to own or lease the reviewed vehicle. read full review |

A member from West Virginia, United States Best Reason to Buy the Ford Five Hundred: Powertrain performance It incorporates the Haldex AWD system used on the Volvo S80. The CVT transmission is extremely smooth and mated with the 200plus horsepower provides acceleration of 0-60mph in about 8 seconds. (actual self test, it has improved since new. was 8.9 sec.)
