Really excellent, considering. Over 18 mpg city hand measured over multiple tanks IF its broken in and uses high test no ethanol. |
| 2011 | 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed turbocharged 365hp 3.5L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range |
Economically moving a nearly 6000 pound vehicle with 4 wheel drive and 3:73 gears is quite a job for any engine. Even with the aerodynamics of a brick, this little V6 manages anywhere from 16-20 mpg on regular gas. |
| 2010 | 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed 310-horsepower 5.4L V8 6-speed automatic RWD |
So far, with a light foot and the majority of the miles are on the freeway, my fuel economy is over 19 mpg. Not bad for a big super cab truck with a V8, camper shell, and carpet kit. On long trips I have hit 21.5 mpg. Mostly it's around 17 driving fast, lead foot, and city mileage. |
| 2010 | 4dr Extended Cab 6.5ft bed 310-horsepower 5.4L V8 6-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range |
I know this isnt anything impressive compared to some vehicles these days, but I am overall impressed with the fuel economy Im getting from the 5.4L V8. I usually average about 17.5 MPG, not bad at all for a big V8. I personally expected much worse MPG. |
| 2010 | 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed 292-horsepower 4.6L V8 6-speed automatic RWD |
Averaging 18-19 in mixed driving and not broken in |
| 2009 | 4dr Extended Cab 6.5ft bed 310-horsepower 5.4L V8 6-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range |
Reg unleaded at 60/65 mph across country averaged 21 mpg with 1,200 pound load in it. |
| 2009 | 4dr Crew Cab 6.5ft bed 310-horsepower 5.4L V8 6-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range |
Great fuel economy, a lot better then my 2004. |
| 2009 | 4dr Extended Cab 5.5ft bed 310-horsepower 5.4L V8 6-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range |
much better fuel economy, getting 17.2 mpg on a new engine |
| 2004 | 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed 300-horsepower 5.4L V8 4-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range |
Average 21-23 MPG at 1100 - 2200m elevation, mountain driving. |

I drive like an old lady and (typical of all posted fuel economy) I cant get the advertised mpg. |
| 2007 | 4dr Regular Cab 8ft bed 202-horsepower 4.2L V6 4-speed automatic RWD |
15-18 mpg with a v-6. Do I ned to say any more?? |
| 2006 | 4dr Extended Cab 6.5ft bed 300-horsepower 5.4L V8 4-speed automatic RWD |
With todays rising gas costs, you really must want to drive this type of truck, as I average 17 miles to 1 IMPERIAL GALLON of gas. |
| 2006 | 4dr Regular Cab 6.5ft bed 202-horsepower 4.2L V6 4-speed automatic RWD |
14 around town, 17 on a trip |
| 2005 | 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed 231-horsepower 4.6L V8 4-speed automatic RWD |
Ford can do the same as GM to improve fuel economy |

18MPG for the small v8 |
| 2004 | 4dr Regular Cab 6.5ft bed 300-horsepower 5.4L V8 4-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range |
13 MPG overall and and around 18 on the interstate on a good day. |
| 2004 | 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed 300-horsepower 5.4L V8 4-speed automatic RWD |
Not too bad, but wish it was better than 17 mpg |
| 2004 | 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed 300-horsepower 5.4L V8 4-speed automatic RWD |
not as advertised |
| 2004 | 4dr Extended Cab 6.5ft bed 300-horsepower 5.4L V8 4-speed automatic RWD |
Has a 5.4 liter V8. Love the power, but it guzzles the gas. Takes about $85.00 to fill up and can drive about 300 miles on one tank. |
| 2003 | 2dr Regular Cab 6.5ft bed supercharged 380hp 5.4L V8 4-speed automatic RWD |
The supercharged 5.4L V-8 REQUIRES 91 octane premium gas, which it drinks at a rate of 1 gallon every 14.9 miles (14.0 or less for the first 40,000 or so miles). |
| 2003 | 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed 231-horsepower 4.6L V8 4-speed automatic RWD |
17mpg on average is a little low for a 4.6L. Ford should have focused more on fuel economy. |
| 2003 | 4dr Extended Cab 6.5ft bed 231-horsepower 4.6L V8 4-speed automatic RWD |
It is a truck with a 100.00 fuel tank. |
| 2003 | 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed 260-horsepower 5.4L V8 4-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range |
Very thirsty! Getting MAYBE 14mpg on highway. |
| 2000 | 4dr Extended Cab 6.5ft bed 220-horsepower 4.6L V8 4-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range |
V8 and 4 wheel drive. What can you say...just not made for economy driving. |
