A member from Oregon, United States Best Reason to Buy the Ford Escape: Fuel economy Consistantly 30 mpg average fuel economy. Nice for an SUV. Best Reason Not to Buy the Ford Escape: Cargo capacity & towing Only 1000lb towing capacity combined with small cargo space (it is a small SUV) makes it difficult to go camping with two dogs and a toddler. Roof/bike racks are a good option. For a 4WD non aerodynamic mini-truck the economy is stellar. A member from Ontario, Canada Best Reason to Buy the Ford Escape: Fuel economy work truck, after 5000km getting 8L/100km in mostly 50-60-80km/hr driving...can get 7 if very gentle. Best Reason Not to Buy the Ford Escape: Cargo capacity & towing 133 hp, I wouldnt tow anyting with this...I think you would get stuck at any boat launch..It seems to take off on electric power even when gas motor is running...rpms wont go above 1200 if your stuck...seems to have only so much thrust & gives up.?
