Reliability and Durability of the Chrysler Pacifica: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2008 4dr SUV 253-horsepower 4.0L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Could not pass on the life time warranty
2007 4dr SUV 253-horsepower 4.0L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Lifetime PowerTrain Warranty and Life-Time Max-Care extended Warranty was a major reason for buying this Pacifica. At 3 years and 74,400 miles we are very pleased we bought this Chrysler Pacifica Touring AWD.
2006 4dr SUV 250-horsepower 3.5L V6
4-speed shiftable automatic AWD
I have had ZERO problems with it.
Reliability and Durability of the Chrysler Pacifica: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2008 4dr SUV 253-horsepower 4.0L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Earlier year models had very shaky reliability.
2007 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.8L V6
4-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Battery needed replacing after 2 years. Interior starting to disintegrate. Paint chipping badly on hood.
2007 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.8L V6
4-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Transmission problems from the 1st day. Constant shuddering, clunking when coming to a stop, sometimes doesnt shift into 1st coming to a stop. Intermittent starting problems Needs front power steering rack replaced - been waiting 2 months for part.
2007 4dr SUV 253-horsepower 4.0L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Motor mounts are troublesome on Pacifica's and prone to failure. Every car has its issues though. This one is not a dealbreaker, just something to be aware of. Stick with Mopar replacement parts.
2006 4dr SUV 250-horsepower 3.5L V6
4-speed shiftable automatic FWD
I do not feel comfortable taking long trips in this car due to the transmission noises. I drive in the heat of Florida and often to Virginia. My last few trips I have rented a car just to not have the worry of a breakdown.
2006 4dr SUV 250-horsepower 3.5L V6
4-speed shiftable automatic FWD
very high (not normal) oil consumption
2005 4dr SUV 250-horsepower 3.5L V6
4-speed shiftable automatic FWD
within 80,000 miles i already had problems with body molding clips and anchor nuts not working properly. also within 80,000 miles i had the front motor mount go out and they are $75 to $150 a piece just for one. plenty of other small mechanical gliches.
2004 4dr SUV 250-horsepower 3.5L V6
4-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Suspension was poorly engineered. Everything is expensive. $348 per shock absorber! $600 for A-arm bushing. $1500 for engine harness which fails when $347 engine mount fails.
