What Our Members Are Saying about Chevrolet TrailBlazer Materials and Workmanship
| Materials and Workmanship of the Chevrolet TrailBlazer: Cons | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2007 | 4dr SUV 291-horsepower 4.2L I6 4-speed automatic RWD |
Random parts fail or fall off on a regular basis. These include taillight assemblies (letting in water), door weather stripping, fuel level sensors, rear hatch lock, luggage rack trim, etc. Parts selected and assembly feel like a halfway effort. |
| 2006 | 4dr SUV 291-horsepower 4.2L I6 4-speed automatic 4WD w/low range |
Wiring for seats is sloppy and obtrusive. Seals on doors move out of place easily. Center console is flimsy and e-brake trim is very low quality. Needing a prop for the hood is insulting at the price, but at least the hood is relatively light. |
| 2003 | 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 4.2L I6 4-speed automatic 4WD w/low range |
Where do I start: Overall it appears designed for limited life: 1) Left wheel bearing 2X in 100K 2) fan clutch/water pump/timing belt @ 60K 3) Irid. plugs ($25 per) die @60K ~$300 4) Healights @ 7 yrs- $800 A-Mkt/$1400 Chevy - again designed4failure |
| 2002 | 4dr SUV 270-horsepower 4.2L I6 4-speed automatic 4WD w/low range |
Replaced the auto drive select twice within warranty. Rear light electricle replaced within warranty. Replaced brakes twice...once within a year. The front stableizers replaced. |
What Our Members Are Saying about Ford Fusion Materials and Workmanship
| Available Features of the Ford Fusion: Pros | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2013 | 4dr Sedan 141-horsepower 2.0L I4 Hybrid CVT FWD |
The interior materials are much higher quality than the Camry. The Camry felt very cheap, not like a car that costs over $30k. The Fusion felt like a more expensive BMW or Audi with the interior quality. There were no large gaps or uneven edges between materials. The exterior build quality is also better in the Fusion. The doors close smoothly and without being too heavy or too light. The hood fits very tightly with the frame. The trunk closes easily but without slamming. And, best of all, the trunk includes a little handle for closing so that you don't have to grab the exterior of trunk but can just close it with that handle. Just like my Saab does!! |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan 175-horsepower 2.5L I4 6-speed manual FWD |
Fit and finish is on par with anything from Honda and Toyota. |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan 240-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD |
Whole overall interior quality |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan 240-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD |
fit and finish are excellent both inside and outside of car |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan 263-horsepower 3.5L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD |
Everything seems to be put together well and this is coming from a Toyota Camry and Acura TSX owner. The only gripe is color choices, but charcoal gray is better than not having any choices at all. |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Ford has come along way in making there cars more in line with three Japanese counterparts. Fit and finish is top rate and the quality of the interior is fantastic. No hard plastics and a overall excellent Vehicle. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 221-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed automatic FWD |
The Ford Fusion displays a well appointed interior and exterior using many high quality materials. Nothing about the Fusion feels cheap or passed over in favor of cutting costs. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 221-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed automatic FWD |
Everything looks well put together, not seamless but things look like they fit with each other. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 221-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed automatic AWD |
Above average fit and finish. Nice materials in the interior including faux graphite trim on the dash. Good ergonomics. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 221-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed automatic FWD |
Not perfect (my 2010 Flex is perfect) but certainly in line at this price point. Everything fits; nothing squeaks even at 70K miles (almost.) This is a keeper. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 221-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed automatic FWD |
The quality of the interior materials is on a par with other vehicles in its class and better than what was expected from Ford. |

feel of switches and knobs, and look of the plastic. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 221-horsepower 3.0L V6 6-speed automatic FWD |
I had several very obvious fit/finish issues, both interior and exterior. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
After an alignment when replacing tires, the mechanic showed me that the alingment A bar to move tire from front to back does not adjust, would need an aftermarket piece to fix if bad tire wear. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
some parts adjustments are approximative |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Again, just terrible. Obviously something wrong with clutch plate. Leather seats disconnected from front of seats. Plugs popping out of wheel well clips. Top of dashboard "glove" box would just pop up for no reason, almost causing accident. |
