Price seemed great in comparison to what the asking price was in other places for a lesser model (LT). Dealer had put a set of OEM Goodyears on it, and did a good job with detailing it. Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Impala: Materials & workmanship Too much plastic in the interior - doors and dash. A member from New York, United States Best Reason to Buy the Chevrolet Impala: Powertrain performance The 3900 V6 is very responsive and climbs hills effertlessly. The engine idles very smooth and is easy to live with on a daily basis. The old 4 speed automatic always shifts on time and is smooth. Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Impala: Color choices The interior needs more color choice options other than black, light tan or light gray. Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Impala: Rear seat room & comfort Large trunk space seems to sacrifise rear seat area. When it does you can hear and feel a loud clunking noise coming from the powertrain. Often times this also causes the tires to "chirp". Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Impala: Brand reputation & image 2006 and earlier models had bad reliability and many issues that were never addressed by GM; the same problems every year with every model year.
