I just love the car, this is my 2ND one. The roof was so low and the trunk lid so high it was hard to see backing. The low roof required small side windows that cut visibility. The car had some large blind spots. A member from New York, United States Best Reason to Buy the Chevrolet Impala: Powertrain performance Took it out and put the pedal to the metal and boy was I impressed, in about 1/4 of a mile I was running up past 120 mph and climbing and decided that was good enough. No vibration or hesitation or drifting. I had no idea it would light up like that. Price seemed great in comparison to what the asking price was in other places for a lesser model (LT). Dealer had put a set of OEM Goodyears on it, and did a good job with detailing it. Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Impala: Materials & workmanship Too much plastic in the interior - doors and dash. The engine idles very smooth and is easy to live with on a daily basis. The old 4 speed automatic always shifts on time and is smooth. Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Impala: Color choices The interior needs more color choice options other than black, light tan or light gray. Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Impala: Fuel economy Only get about 25 mpg on interstate with the 3.9 Active fuel management is a gimmick in my opinion and older GM cars with a V6 I have driven have been better with fuel economy than the 3.9.
