Reliability and Durability of the Chevrolet Equinox: Pros

6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
So far, right at 3 yrs./36K mi., our 2010 Chevy Equinox has been: 1. Very reliable and durable 2. No oil use 3. Timing chain A OK. 4. Excellent mileage-in town 23-26 Mpg. highway (2K rpm/ 60-63 MPH) 29-36 MPG. 5. Using AMSOIL XL motor oil (5W-30 or 10W-30 OK here in CA) abd Nano-fiber in-line cartridge oil filters has really helped. OCI-10-13K/1 year. Filter changes: 7K/6-7 mos./then 4-5K/3-4mo./ then 2K-2 mo. max. The On-Line Oil Monitoring System (ONLMS)is working great--indicating 8% oil life left after 12,400 mi./1 year).

I've had my 2010 Equinox since December 09, and have had zero mechanical issues so far. The only warranty work was having the power lumbar support int he drivers seat fixed.
2007 4dr SUV 185-horsepower 3.4L V6
5-speed automatic AWD
Not very reliable at all.I have taken it to the dealership more times than I care for. When one thing goes on this car, alot of other things tend to follow that problem. It only has 120k miles on it and it has given me more problems that a car with 300k.

these cars are assembled with all the care of a throw-away food container... but the container has better plastic quality.
