What Our Members Are Saying about Chevrolet Equinox Materials and Workmanship

Available Features of the Chevrolet Equinox: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2011 4dr SUV 182-horsepower 2.4L I4
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Not a single squeak, rattle, or poorly fitting interior or exterior part.
Materials and Workmanship of the Chevrolet Equinox: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2011 4dr SUV 182-horsepower 2.4L I4
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Seems cheap - welds, seams, etc.
2010 4dr SUV 182-horsepower 2.4L I4
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
When shopping for a small SUV I took my time and spread it over 3 weeks...meaning I had time to really look at the vehicles I was considering. Having not owned a domestic in over 20 years, I was expecting the fit and finish to not be to import standards..I was wrong. The paint quality, panel gaps and general fit and finish were as good or better than some of the imports I cross shopped. Very surprised..
2007 4dr SUV 185-horsepower 3.4L V6
5-speed automatic AWD
Terrible craftsmanship. Cheapest materials that GM could get their hands on. Lots of rattles and squeaks. The engine makes alot of noise, very irritating. Seats are not that comfortable, especially on long road trips. Just a poorly built car. Period.
2005 4dr SUV 185-horsepower 3.4L V6
5-speed automatic AWD
When left outside during a rain storm, gallons of water will seep into the tire well. Had to have a profesionall glass company seel it, local mechanics wouldn't touch it.
2005 4dr SUV 185-horsepower 3.4L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
Fit and finish poor in the interior.

What Our Members Are Saying about Toyota Avalon Materials and Workmanship

Available Features of the Toyota Avalon: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2008 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
The vehicle feels very solid. Smooth, comfortable ride to Sedona,Az from L.A. which was easy and I felt good after driving 6 hours. Mileage was surprising good and I scoot along pretty good. Closing the door has that Mercedes feel. Very quiet ride.
2007 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
On a par with Lexus (or other good luxury car), but lower cost.
Materials and Workmanship of the Toyota Avalon: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2009 4dr Sedan 268-horsepower 3.5L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Having owned 8 different Toyotas over the years I have seen a steady decline in quality in recent years. This was well reflected in the Avalon. For an upscale car, the fit and finish were quite poor. No comparison with the Genesis.
