What Our Members Are Saying about the Price of the the BMW 5-Series
| Price of the BMW 5-Series: Pros | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD | Better than the Lexus I was looking at for a much better handling and more luggage space vehicle. |
| Price of the BMW 5-Series: Cons | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2010 | 4dr Wagon turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD | Too expensive for what you get. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.0L I6 6-speed shiftable automatic RWD | for 60k the 5 series seems a bit pricy compared to what you can get from even an acura TL for instance. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.0L I6 6-speed shiftable automatic RWD | I paid cash, but they do not usually offer incentives on the 5 series. That may have changed in this economy but the 5 series has few incentives. |
| 2006 | 4dr Wagon 255-horsepower 3.0L I6 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD | Very expensive car 90K CDN or 60K USD new. Very pricey for a car. |
| 2002 | 4dr Sedan 225-horsepower 3.0L I6 5-speed manual RWD | Compared to the implicit value of Genesis, BMW simply charges too much for what you get...$25K delta just not justifiable. |
| 2001 | 4dr Sedan 225-horsepower 3.0L I6 5-speed shiftable automatic RWD | still a high payment |
| 2000 | 4dr Sedan 282-horsepower 4.4L V8 6-speed manual RWD | Mostly about the depreciation - you will lose money |
What Our Members Are Saying about the Price of the the Volkswagen CC
| Price of the Volkswagen CC: Pros | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD | There’s a lot of car to be had for the money here, especially for the 2.0T models. The CC is economically priced, but is more than comparable to other entry-level luxury brand cars. |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD | zero down, $399 for 36mo., 15k/yr. |
| Price of the Volkswagen CC: Cons | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD | The CC is a little costly but the overall build quality and craftsmenship is worth the premium. |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD | 4Motion can be had only on the 3.6VR6 model, which is far too expensive to compete effectively in its segment. For the price of a 3.6 4Motion, you might as well save up a little more for an Audi. 2.0T models are well worth the price of admission though. |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD | somewhat higher than expected, even the base model. |

The fit and finish on my new 528i were excellent. Not a flaw found yet. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 360-horsepower 4.8L V8 6-speed shiftable automatic RWD |
well put together with good materials |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 174-horsepower 2.0L I6 6-speed manual RWD |
Excellent material and fit everywhere, the desing maybe abit more simplistic that i would like but the material and build is superb. Even a hardcore japanese brand fan -a friend of mine- admitted the build and materials used |
| 2005 | 4dr Sedan 225-horsepower 3.0L I6 6-speed shiftable automatic RWD |
Top quality German manufacturing excellence |

I drove both the 3 & 5 series - 328x is far too small inside & materials are worse than my Honda Pilot. The 5 series was a lot better, about as good as my Jetta, but no close to the quality of the Audi (which was $30000 less). |
| 2002 | 4dr Sedan 184-horsepower 2.5L I6 5-speed shiftable automatic RWD |
Electrical and cooling system are a joke |

| 2010 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4 6-speed automated manual FWD |
The interior materials are right up there with Audi/BMW and upscale US autos. This is a first class cabin. |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD |
There is a reason why VW charge a premium over its Japanese and American rivals. The materials used in the CC (and other VW cars in general) are the absolute best in its segment. German cars are designed to perform and look great while doing it. |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4 6-speed automated manual FWD |
The interior quality is second to none. Fit and finish is absolutly perfect. Everything is soft to the touch. Interior lighting is exquisit includes ambient red lighting. |

| 2013 | 4dr Sedan turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4 6-speed automated manual FWD |
Very disappointed with the interior plastic componenents and trim. Squeaks like an old wooden ship over bumps, acclerating and braking. Sunroof needed to be replaced because of noise. The new one still squeaks. I've had to wedge felt and neoprene foam between gaps and joints to quiet the squeaks |
