6-speed manual RWD		 The standard features are lacking. Many cars costing half as much have more features than the 1-series. You can get better equipped cars for the same money with Infiniti (G37S) and Audi (TT-S, S4).

6-speed shiftable automatic RWD		 Pricey, especially for convertible compared to coupe. Cost of auto-transmission silly compared to manuals -- and other autos. Early examples not offered with much discount from MSRP.
